The ideal candidate could presently be a Lead Estimator or an Estimator with at least 3 years in the field. This important role will require someone to understand the operations of construction while have working knowledge of conceptual estimating, detailed estimating as well as being a strong communicator. We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator. They are looking for someone that has at least 3 years experience as well as someone that has spent some time in the operations side of construction. The ideal candidate will be able to see the bigger picture and have working knowledge of conceptual estimating, detailed estimating as well as strong presentation skills. Overview: The Project Estimator is responsible for leading estimates for various construction types including tilt-up, cold storage, multi-family, masonry, etc. The Project Estimator must be extremely organized, cost conscious, aware of all aspects of the project, and be able to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project. Responsibilities: Assemble bid invitation lists and assist in maintenance of Subcontractor and Supplier databases Correspond with Owners, Architects, Subcontractors, and Suppliers as needed to perform estimating duties Attend project hand-off meeting Perform site inspection prior to bidding Document math computations on quote sheets to indicate how the final amount was determined in the estimate Develop preliminary project schedule Prepare formal Subcontractor / Supplier bid scope packages (CM projects) Prepare legal bid advertisements Perform Subcontractor / Supplier pre-qualification measures Develop Subcontractor / Supplier bid interest in projects Prepare bid tabulation forms General: Participate in company and estimating department meetings as scheduled Manage company resources wisely Assist in training of new personnel as requested Stay current in training of estimating systems used by the company by attending seminars and training sessions as requested Participate in professional organizations such as ASPE, CSI, etc. whenever possible. BS in Engineering, or related field Knowledge of assigned discipline, estimating techniques and cost control. Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
