Day in Your Life at MKSAs a Principal Applications Engineer at MKS
in Broomfield, Colorado, you will work within a team dedicated to
Indirect Pressure Measurement (IPM) products within the Vacuum
Solutions Division. You will design, develop, test and implement
hardware and software solutions to meet customers' requirements in
partnership with a interdisciplinary team of engineers and
scientists.You Will Make an Impact By:
- Providing pre-sale and post-sale technical product support for
customers' operating systems and capital equipment
- Educating customers and internal colleagues on the capabilities
and requirements related to the IPM product line
- Assisting sales staff in assessing potential application of
company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed
product specifications
- Supporting customer installations by offering guidance and
training to customers while being available for troubleshooting and
questions
- Providing follow-up support in disseminating technical
information on specific applications to service personnel, company
sales representatives, and customers' employees
- Travel Requirements: up to 10% of travel is requiredSkills You
Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry or related engineering
field
- 8+ years of relevant experience resulting in a solid
understanding of:
- gauges and transducers used within IPM products.
- analytical and process instrumentation (RS232, RS485, DeviceNet
and EtherCAT).
- software development and industrial communication standards and
protocols.
- Understanding of vacuum physics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in
writingPreferred Skills:
- Experience with semiconductor or thin-film processing
preferred.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are
served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate
information to others
- Must have vision with or without lenses adequate to read memos,
a computer screen, and clinical and administrative documents
- Must have high manual dexterity

time.Compensation and Benefits:Salary Pay Range: $111,900.00 -
207,900.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the
expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of
factors including qualifications, experience and training,
operational and business needs and other considerations permitted
by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at
or near the top of the range for the role.Bonus: This position is
eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be
determined by MKS [or as applicable].Benefits: MKS offers a
