electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts
engineering across BAE - Space and Mission Systems (SMS) programs,
customer base, and engineering departments. Work with multiple
flight antenna and sensing program teams to ensure that the
selection, evaluation, analysis, and documentation of the EEE parts
specified in developmental and customer designs meet the program
requirements.The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit
delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable
people, data and missions. We provide a comprehensive approach to

mission and business success.What You'll Do:
- Be personally mentored and trained one-on-one by two subject
matter experts (SMEs) with a combined greater than 50 years of
electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts
engineering experience across multiple industries.
- Represent Mission Assurance (MA) as an EEE parts engineering
subject matter expert (SME) within the program teams, which
includes but is not limited to: parts derating, electrostatic
discharge (ESD) considerations, thermal management, moisture
sensitivity levels (MSL) concerns, visual inspections, failure
analysis (FA), destructive physical analysis (DPA), datasheet and
specification reviews, etc.
- Collaborate with the diverse and broad program engineering SMEs
to inform the selection of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) EEE
parts and the military specification (MIL-SPEC) flight equivalent
upgrades.
- Work closely with procurement personnel (e.g. integrated supply
chain).
- Participate in BAE Space and Mission Systems' (SMS) Diminishing
Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) process and
assess program impact through EEE parts obsolescence analysis
across multiple mission areas.
- Address program and customer logistics, spares provisioning,
and maintainability requirements to meet short-term and long-term
program goals.
- Learn to review technical reports from third party analytical
laboratories regarding very specific aspects of critical EEE parts
following MIL-STD-1580, MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, and
MIL-STD-202.
- Lead and perform parts engineering functions on both
development and production programs using industry-proven
techniques and principles:
- Evaluate EEE parts against program screening and qualification
requirements documented in internal source control drawings (SCDs)
/ select idem drawings (SIDs), datasheets, and in customer specific
part test plans.
- Work with the Tactical Solutions (TS) EEE parts engineering
team to prepare and present cases for approval of non-standard
parts and deviations in front of customer parts control boards
(PCBs).
- Create part drawings [SCD, SIDs, altered item drawings (AIDs),
etc.] as needed to meet new program requirements.
- Review industry advisories, Mission Assurance Bulletins (MABs),
and other alerts for program impact and take action to propose
mitigation to affected programs.
- Perform data reviews of screening, qualification, and DPA test
results using BAE SMS's electronic inspection records (EIR)
system.
- Resolve part anomalies with quality engineers via the EIR
system and drive internal and external customer approvals.
- Interface with program teams and program managers to ensure
assigned tasks align with program schedule and delivery.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic
Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with
others in order to maintain a positive and productive work
environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work
location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and
other possible non-company locations may be required.Working
Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor,
or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of
protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather
conditions.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field
is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
- Experience with procurements and screening of high-speed
microcircuits, plastic encapsulated microcircuits (PEMS), ceramic
packages, hybrids, MMICs, COTS, MIL-SPEC, Hi-Rel, avionics
connectors, and RF devices.
- Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Application Suite is
expected.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across
programs, between cross disciplinary teams, in front of different
audiences, and with management.A security clearance or access with
Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position.
However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission,
depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and
must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.Preferred
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Knowledge of document control systems, and the ability to learn
other custom software tools.
- Experience with RF antenna, avionic PCB/PWA development and
manufacturing.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance.Pay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $75570.000 - $128480.000Please
note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Employee
