Job Description Job Description Job Summary This Electrical
Designer I position creates basic designs for electrical power and
control systems utilizing skills, knowledge, acceptable concepts,
practices, and procedures recognized within the electrical
engineering field. This position relies on instructions,
pre-established guidelines, and design standards combined with the
computer-aided design (CAD) to perform the required functions. This
position provides support to Senior Designers, Engineers, and
Project Managers This position receives assignments from a Project
Manager, Engineer or Senior Designer Guidant provides best-in-class

of electrical and control systems Utilize Morrow Engineering
established practices, standards and procedures to perform tasks
Develop or revise designs, details, and drawings from experience,
existing designs, sketches, verbal instructions, and written
directions Review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to
established CAD standards Develop or revise designs, details, and
drawings in accordance with established CAD guidelines Review all
designs for accuracy and completeness prior to submitting Prepare
as-built drawings from field generated markups Perform work under
the technical supervision of a Project Manager, Engineer, or Senior
Designer Cooperate with the project team to maximize the success of
the project Must be effective at communicating with written and
oral communication skills Work on concurrent projects and
proportions time appropriately Complete assigned work within agreed
upon schedule Demonstrate initiative in seeking additional tasks
and responsibilities Complete work assignments with a strong
emphasis on technical accuracy and overall attention to detail
Prepare and assemble documents for shipment (i.e., photocopying,
binding, etc.) Operate peripheral equipment (i.e., printers,
copiers, plotters, etc.) Participate in occasional trips to project
sites to gather/verify existing information Participate in an
assortment of departmental cross-training instruction
Qualifications Associates or Technology Degree and/or 2 years of
experience in the field of industrial electrical power, power
distribution, and control system design Excellent oral and written
communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to
apply, the current National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, Chapters 1,
2, 3, 4, and 9 Demonstrated basic knowledge of industrial type
electrical distribution systems Demonstrated basic knowledge of
industrial type electrical distribution equipment Capable of
reading and understanding single line diagrams, riser diagrams,
power, lighting, grounding, and instrument plans Capable of reading
and understanding schematic, wiring, instrument loop diagrams, and
P&ID’s Familiar with industrial and/or manufacturing facilities
Basic ability of reading, understanding, and utilizing building and
mechanical drawings Demonstrated knowledge of commonly used
electrical design concepts, practices, and procedures Demonstrated
ability to apply AutoCAD techniques and drafting skills
specifically related to electrical power and control systems
Demonstrated basic ability to apply applicable electrical design
software such as conductor sizing, conductor de-rating, lighting,
cable pulling, and cable tray loading. Must have working knowledge
of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Must be capable of accurately
performing technical calculations Must have analytical and
