Senior Application Engineer is a critical contributor to the SENS
sales team. They review technical requests for quotation and
prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals. This position
supports our industrial power business focusing on electrical
switchgear, substation, and oil and gas power and energy storage
projects. The role provides direct customer interaction supporting
customer projects, applications, and technical inquiries, and
focuses on providing prompt, clear, and accurate technical guidance
while building customer trust and maximizing sales opportunities.
Responsibilities Read and understand customer requests for
quotation. Review project bid specifications. Document
clarifications, deviations, and exceptions. Conduct project scope
analysis. Solution customer projects with applicable solutions and
technologies. Specify and quote projects in collaboration with the
sales manager. Provide technical customer guidance. Provide
training and advice to external and internal parties. Maintain an
exceptional level of customer responsiveness and service both to
SENS sales staff and to customers both internal and external.
Create conceptual designs (typically one-line diagrams) for
discussion with customers. Maintain reports and logs as designated
for the job and sales manager. Become company expert in sizing and
specifying power systems. Required Qualifications 7 years of
relevant experience. Strong understanding of electrical,
electronic, and mechanical concepts. Working knowledge of power
conversion, batteries, and electrical distribution systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Visio. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, with proven ability to interact directly with customers.
Positive, professional, customer focused, and revenue minded. Able
to work well with others in a team / matrix environment. Organized,
accurate, and detail oriented. Ability to work independently with
little supervision. Demonstrated business productivity in a
technical environment preferable in industrial power systems.
Experienced with direct customer technical interaction. Ability to
travel up to 10% of the time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications Technical degree in electrical or
mechanical engineering. Experience preparing technical responses to
RFQs. Location: This position is located in Longmont, CO.
Compensation: Compensation for this role includes base pay plus
variable pay (commission) for a total on-target earnings (OTE). OTE
is calculated as the annual base salary plus the projected annual
commission at 100% quota attainment. The base salary range for this
position is $85,000 - $100,000 with the opportunity to earn
variable commission at 100% quota attainment for a total on-target
earnings (OTE) range of $105,000 - $125,000. Closing Date: February
28th. While we expect to keep the position open through this date,
the posting may be extended or closed early based on applicant
